As a social media agency, we’re always on the lookout for insights that can help our clients build a stronger online presence. And, let me tell you, our 2024 Q1 report had some surprising findings!
The Unexpected MVP: Static Posts
We were thrilled to discover in one of our clients Q1 report, that her audience interacted and engaged with her static posts (photos, graphics, and memes) 27% more than her reel/video content!
That’s right, – static posts still matter and sometimes reign as the real MVP on social media! We’re convinced that these easy-to-create, visually-appealing posts will continue to be just as important as their video counterparts.
We discovered through our data and analytics that our followers love to digest our static posts, but our non-followers aren’t interested in them. This is good news! Why? When we create a static post we are nurturing the relationship we have with our loyal followers and giving them what they want, and in turn, they engage and boost us up in the algorithm.
Why Static Posts Matter
Simple: they’re easier to create and consume than video content. Think about it – you can whip up a photo or graphic in minutes, whereas video content requires a lot more time and effort. Not to mention, not everyone wants to watch a video every time they scroll through their feed. Some people prefer to digest important information in a more static format. That’s where static posts come in – they’re the perfect way to deliver important information without overwhelming your audience.
Don’t Count Out Static Posts Just Yet
So, what does this mean for your social media strategy? It’s time to give static posts some love again! We’re not saying you should abandon your video content strategy altogether, but you should definitely make sure to include static posts in your mix. Trust us, your audience or future audience will thank you.
What do you think? We want to hear from you! Do you still enjoy graphics and photos, or have you moved on to videos as your go-to? Let us know in the comments!
